William’s Answer

Pedro:

The FBI can be a very rewarding career. Most in the FBI are college graduates and a large portion have advanced degrees such as a law degree. The application comprises a written portion, interview, detailed background check, polygraph testing and several weeks of training at Quantico, Virginia. It is a detailed process and takes several months to complete. It is not for everybody and a number of applicants do not make it through the process. Mr. Turner's comment is accurate. Review the FBI webpage thoroughly and see what interests you. Many field agents begin their careers internationally for several years before returning to the United States.

Hey Pedro - The FBI has a lot of good information on their website (https://www.fbijobs.gov/1.asp). They explain the hiring process, training, and life in the FBI. The hire people from many different backgrounds but the most important criteria is a degree. Check out the site and see if there are any particular majors that you're interested in that can help you get a job with the FBI.

Good Luck.
