Hi Tyler,

A psychologist is a pretty broad job field. Most people think about a counseling psychologist when they use the term. Is that what you were referring to? In general, the working conditions are in doors, working with people and computers. In some cases, you can work in other settings like camps or hospitals. Many counseling psychologists spend time scheduling appointments and seeing patients. In some clinical settings, groups sessions require the psychologists to facilitate group discussions. There are documentation requirements too. Some people have to keep charts on patients, inform other colleagues of progress/issues, and insurance reimbursement.

It can be a stressful but very rewarding job. There are many times when you get to see people struggling and at their worst but the hope is always to help them get better and become the person that they desire to be.

Hope this helps.

Scott
