Gregory’s Answer

I did this for a decade. Electronic engineering is the top choice. You can get a 2 year associate degree in Engineering technology or a 4 year BSEET, both will serve you well. It will give you a foundation that the company your work with will build on. Any company you hire on with will put you through some extensive training on their products. The degree is what will get you in the door.

Patrick’s Answer

This is very difficult to answer without actually seeing what the specific major program is offering. There are majors for Computer Science, which is likely to be more focused on computer programming. There are majors in Information Technology which is more along the lines of becoming a system administrator, operating servers and fixing them when they break.
