Jessica’s Answer

Jamario: You're right. Drama is terribly distracting - especially when it involves people for whom you care a lot. So, what do you do? Though it may be difficult, the first thing to do is to separate yourself from the people who bring drama into your life. Keep them at arm's length. The second thing to do is to always have a schedule for yourself - things that you want to accomplish from day to day that will get you closer to your ultimate goal. For example, if you want to be a doctor, plan to watch at least one surgery on YouTube everyday. Pick a part of the body each month and learn something new about it everyday. You will become so engrossed (focused) that the noise in your life will become somewhat less distracting. Above all - believe that there is something more peaceful and fulfilling waiting for you.

Haseeb’s Answer

Try to do things one by one and do not jump to another task until the previous one isn't completed. This will save your time and energy and help you stay focussed.

Marcelo’s Answer

Try to not get distracted from your goals! Plan and visualize a few tasks each day. A simple tip like the one Tabetha just gave about using headphones can help you to stay focused on your tasks and goals. Always remember that self-determination, resilience and motivation are key factors to make you successful in your career.

Troy’s Answer

I would create a plan/outline for the tasks or goals you hope to achieve for that day. I would also find time out of each day for yourself by pursuing a hobby or interest. Both ways help find clarity for yourself by investing your focus away from the drama.

Brandon’s Answer

Try to find a place where you can keep a good state of mind. Avoid any toxicity as it can affect other areas of your life. I would recommend going to a place such as a local library or maybe a friend's house. If you are unable to find a place like that, having a pair of headphones and distancing yourself as much as you can will always help.

Alex’s Answer

Stay out of the way as much as possible, avoid toxic environments and conversation by changing the subject or doing something else. surround yourself with people who will lift you up and make you better. it was once said that if you are the smartest or most driven person in your group, then you are surrounded by the wrong people.

Rajesh’s Answer

Just go out of the environment to a reading room or some library OR any place that gives you options to spend your time learning.
It will help your mind to clear the drama and also it will discourage the drama making people over a period of time to reduce the drama as they wont get a reaction from you and its common that if we don't get reaction, we stop doing the things that we expect a response on.

Tabetha’s Answer

I recommend trying to put headphones on listen to music and zone out the best you can. Try to go to a library away from where the drama is.

Chris’s Answer

Just be true to yourself and control what you can control...tune out the negative outside noise, which can be extremely frustrating and difficult at times...if you believe in yourself and feel good about you, that's all that matters!

Frank’s Answer

There are many opportunities for self-learning and development that you can connect in to, particularly with YouTube that has educational programs covering many topics. Explore these to find what means something to you and then go deeper with a plan each day to learn something new. Also, subscribe to Axios (free news service) where you can get daily news on specific topics (e.g. AxiosNext which talks about future trends, etc) so that you can keep up with what is happening in the world.
