Do any architects play minecraft?

Part of the reason I want to be an architect is because I like building houses in Minecraft. Does that translate at all into the career? #architecture

Susan Wisa,’s Answer

I don't. it's highly illogical and would drive me crazy to build a city at the end of a straw! this sort of strips away common sense.

Hi Edwin! While I do agree with the previous answer that playing a game may not translate to a career I do think that if it inspires you then to look further into being an architect. I don't believe one experience is all it takes for any career to become solidified but further research such as experiences, like internships and researching about classes and universities can be a good start! I hope this helps!

I wish you the best!

Aric’s Answer

I don't even know what Minecraft is so for me that is a hard no. Playing a game is not a profession. Architecture is about design, health, welfare and safety of your fellow human beings. It is about interacting with other and working together on solving solutions. A game does not translate into a career. You are doing so many things when playing a game maybe even computer science would interest you since someone is creating that game! Good luck!!
