You can Google the average starting salaries for all major professional sports. Major difference between sports in the US. Football is the most popular, but has the worst contract terms and highest risk of injury. Basketball and baseball have the longest careers professionally, mainly because there are multiple pro leagues both here and aboard. NBA and MLB contacts are almost always guaranteed.
