You should start working for a homebuilder business just as an employee at first, it will be the best route to one day having your own business.

Great question! Carpentry is a great field to get into, and we currently have a shortage of carpenters. Becoming a carpenter requires a mixture of some education and mostly apprenticeship. Depending on where you live some states will have resources on their unemployment websites to help people find apprenticeships.

Once you become a skilled carpeter you don't need a degree in business to start your own. However, some courses in accounting, finance and marketing are valuable to learn how to run your business effectively. Most businesses gi under due to a lack of knowledge in money management and advertising.

Good luck!

Ann recommends the following next steps:

Check out this government site to learn how to get an apprenticeshiphttps://www.apprenticeship.gov/apprenticeship-job-finder
Contact your local community colleges to see if they offer small business courses

Very noble cause, I applaud you !! An apprenticeship/job in the field is the way to get started. Put away money to save up for tools while you learn/work. Start doing odd jobs for friends and family as you can. I have found that word of mouth is the best (and also cheapest) advertising with any kind of contractor work. I have numerous friends in the business and once you get a reputation for good, meticulous work, you will be turning people away for work. Good luck.

Acquiring the necessary tools and equipment is the first step to starting your own carpentry business. You'll need to purchase or lease a workspace, as well as all of the necessary tools and equipment. These can include saws, drills, hammers, screws, nails, and more. You'll also need to invest in a good quality set of carpentry plans.

Next, you'll need to find a good location for your business. This should be a place that is easily accessible to your target market. It should also have the necessary utilities, such as electricity and water. Once you've found a suitable location, you'll need to obtain the appropriate licenses and permits. These will vary depending on the type of business you're running, and the location of your business.

Finally, you'll need to create a business plan and marketing strategy. Your business plan should include your goals and objectives, as well as a detailed description of your target market. It should also outline your marketing strategy, including how you plan to attract customers and generate sales. Once you have a solid business plan and
