Creative Writing Certificates

Are there any creative writing certificate programs for those who are not pursing a degree in writing? Are there any from an accredited university/college? Are there any certificate programs that are online?

Thank you comment icon No one cares about certifications. They’re meaningless. Practice a ton and read more. Write your stories and submit them until someone says yes. That yes builds up confidence and you’ll work upward from there. Just know, you’ll hear no a lot. You’ll never stop hearing it, it’s a subjective business. Bobby Hilliard

Many universities offer certification programs that are for credit, so that might be an excellent place to start. This may sound cliche, but googling may also be a good route. I just googled "creative writing certification online" and found that UCLA offers a creative writing certificate program online. You often see these programs under the Academics -> Programs & Degrees section.

There are plenty of colleges and universities that have writing certificate programs. From personal experience I'd recommend Full Sail university if you're looking for good online certificate programs. However, Full Sail isn't the only one, as online programs are plenty and have been seen major improvement throughout the years.

There are also community organizations and online organizations that offer creative writing certificates. Independent of colleges and universities, they provide their own certifications. You might be able to find more of these in Poetry & Writers Magazine.
