A friend of mine graduated from UCLA Film School and is working in Hollywood. The fact that you live in California gives you a cost advantage over people living out of state. Also, UCLA likely has great internship programs and networks/contacts.

I believe the best school major to pursue in regards to VIDEO EDITING would be TV & FILM PRODUCTION. I personally have an ASSOCIATE Degree in that major from LEEWARD COMMUNITY COLLEGE here on Oahu, HI. Another school I would recommend is SAN FRANCISCO STATE University.
