Kaidi’s Answer

Hi DEJAME, 20% of people will follow their passion, turning them into a job. Most of us have no idea what to do in our life and that is perfectly fine. Please do not feel discouraged. That being said, I recommend you do a strength test. What areas are you good at? Are you good at Math or Arts? I am naturally good at public speaking, so my job is related to that area. You do not need to be a big fan of public speaking, but you could utilize your strength.

Laurie’s Answer

As the other folks answered, if you can figure out what you really enjoy and turn it into you work, you'll never feel like you work a day in your life! Many people are fortunate to find a job that aligns with their interests.
I have always loved school and wanted to be a teacher from the time I was in kindergarten. I turned that love into a career as a teacher, then an elementary school principal, and now I work as a trainer in the business world. I have LOVED all of my jobs because I followed my passion and my interests.
Don't worry if you aren't sure what your passion is yet, you have plenty of time to figure it out! You may need to explore lots of jobs and options until you find what you love! Good luck!

Sandy’s Answer

ABSOLUTELY!! I can honestly say I love what I do, I've been in the Wireless Industry for 23 years and I can't think of a day where I was not looking forward to what sort of challenges I'd face. Yes, I've had some rough days...but overall, I've enjoyed it all...there's not a day that I don't learn something new.
Find something you're passionate about, and you'll never feel like you're working.
Best of luck...hope you find your passion.

Jim’s Answer

Hi, Dejame! This is an interesting questions and I think an important one as it speaks to how you should, in my opinion, think about the jobs/careers that you, or any other student in your shoes, to focus on. In that vein, yes, I do enjoy my current job and my career field, which is Compliance. I have been a Compliance Officer at banks, broker-dealers, and insurance companies and I worked as an Examiner at two different regulators. Honestly, I got into Compliance completely by accident but it was a blessed accident. The reason why I enjoy my work is I am analytical by nature and love reading and learning. Compliance allowed me to utilize my nature, interests and abilities in a variety of ways. That motivated me which in turn allowed me to excel and achieve advancements to senior roles with more responsibility. From my experience, that is how you have fun at what you do; find a career that interests you, is compatible with who you are as a person, and will motivate you to keep going even in the face of tough times.

Ryan’s Answer

The best advice I can give is to find something you love, and research jobs that are in that field. We all want to enjoy our job. But this means you will need to be deliberate when looking for a career path. Keep in mind, you may need to take some jobs along the way that support your basic needs, but don't lose sight of what you really want.
