Hi, First you need to go to dental school for 4 years. During the last year of dental school, you can start applying for orthodontic residency programs. After completing the DDS degree you can start the orthodontic residency which lasts for 2-3 years depending school you choose. Thereafter, you can get licensed as an orthodontist.
