What is a lesser-known academic resource that students find particularly valuable?

I am curious to if there are other resources at college that not many students would know about that are useful. I want to make sure I’m going into college knowing all the types of resources I can have!

How should I always stay ahead of my course work?

I am planning on studying electrical engineering, and from general school experience the course work doesn't cover everything needed to go on and excel in a job. How should I go about researching and studying on my own to always prepare and stay ahead for future opportunities. #Spring25

Sorry about all the college questions and everything, but i'm lost. I was looking into colleges and I discovered instead of NCSU I want to go to UF (University of Florida). They offer higher diplomas for Zoology. I also know I need to do core classes first but this is what confuses me. Where do I take them and if I choose to transfer credits over to UF, Is it even possible ?

I'm getting more confused the more I look into it.

Request for Feedback on Email to Organic Chemistry Professor?

Hi everyone, I’m currently struggling in organic chemistry and am just a few points away from passing. I’ve drafted an email to my professor to ask about potential options for leniency, such as extra credit or revisiting my exams for partial credit. Could I please get some feedback on my email? I want to make sure it’s professional and polite while explaining my situation clearly. Thank you Here’s the draft: I hope this email finds you well. I’m writing to you regarding my performance in your Organic Chemistry course this semester. While I’ve worked diligently to understand the material, I’ve found it particularly challenging, especially as I’ve been navigating some personal and academic stresses throughout the term. I was hoping to explore any options for improving my grade. Specifically, I was wondering if there might be opportunities for extra credit assignments or projects. Additionally, if possible, I would be grateful if you could review my exams to see if there are any opportunities for partial credit or reconsideration. I fully understand if these requests cannot be accommodated, but I wanted to reach out and explore any potential options. I deeply value the material I’ve learned in this class and remain committed to doing everything I can to demonstrate my understanding. Thank you for your time, support, and consideration. I truly value the opportunity to learn in your class and appreciate any guidance you can provide.

Academic Advice?

I am currently a high school student in my junior year. I would not say my grades during freshman and sophomore years were great at all. Previously, I was an all-A+ student and an honor roll recipient. My GPA drastically dropped. Due to depression, my GPA dropped drastically to about 3.2 and below. I wish I had someone to consult, but I cannot change the past so there won't be a point. I am currently trying my best to regain the hard-working scholar I once was. Although it may be late, I am determined to make a strong comeback to impress Universities. What are your recommendations? What do you advice? Thank you!

How might engaging in real-world scenarios help me connect theoretical knowledge to actual practice?

Studying nursing offers numerous benefits that can enhance my overall academic performance. First and foremost, nursing education emphasizes critical thinking and problem-solving skills. How will this ethical framework guide my decision-making in academic and personal contexts? Lastly, the resilience developed through the challenges of nursing education will prepare me for the rigors of any academic program. How can this resilience help me overcome obstacles and persevere in my studies? Should I be worried about honors algebra 2 and honors Spanish 2?

I’m a freshman in highschool, and have been for almost a month and a half now. The opportunity to switch to all honors classes + AP human geography has been presented to me and I am confident about most of my classes except for honors Algebra 2 and honors Spanish 2. I am not struggling at all in these classes, and I have a high A (96+) in both of them. My counselor said it was the same curriculum but I am still so afraid! I fear that I would be biting off more than I can chew if I take ALL honors + an AP class. I’m in regular classes right now (regular Algebra 2, regular Spanish, regular English, etc…) and It’s all very easy for me. Despite it being the same curriculum, would everything be more intense? Are the teachers less lax in these classes? Would I be bombarded with work from the switch? I can make a decision by the end of this week (end of marking period 1) And I will likely choose honors. But what’s the point of taking classes that look good if I just struggle and fail them? I have very good grades right now. Mostly ease in all my classes. Lowest grade is a 96 while my highest is a 100. Would that change if I go into harder classes? What am I putting myself into? What should I expect from taking these honors classes, and more specifically honors algebra 2 and honors Spanish 2.

How do I plan out the strategy for my college courses?

I'm starting college in attempts to get out of the financial struggle my family's endured and start a life for myself. To start, I was planning on going for dental hygienist, with the goal of looking forward to dermatology/veternarian/marine biologist. I have time to decide which career to achieve during the time I spend going through dental hygiene, but I'm wondering how I can save time by taking the classes they all might have in common. I'm thinking a bachelor in biology might be beneficial and something I can do while doing dental. What do you guys think of this?

Do you have to transfer your associate's degree to your bachelors?

Hi, I am currently a rising junior who is taking dual enrollment classes in psychology. I was wondering that when I go to university do they take away my associates degree if they transfer the credits to my bachelors degree. I was wondering because If they didn't I could pursue a better-paying job with my associates degree rather than waiting till I get my bachelor's.

How could I possibly shadow or contribute to my mentoring?

I have found a mentor that is a professor and a social worker with her own practice. When we first met we discussed things I could do, such as research and just asking questions in general, one of her suggestions was to shadow, but we were both concerned about the ethical dilemmas that would form as I am a highschool student although I do dual psychology classes at college which technically made me a college student. Many college students shadow professionals in the mental health field because they are studying that field, would this make it more acceptable if I were to shadow my mentor while obviously following HIPAA laws, ethical concerns, and getting the patients okay.
