T.J.’s Answer

Hello Ashtyn!

Food selling may depend on the type of food you want to sell.
Online grocery selling of ingredients (like SayWeee or Quicklly) may require more work than online selling of prepared goods by you.

I've seen people make goods or food like cookies and ship them. For you, make sure that you understand local regulation guidelines around food & independent businesses.

Ultimately, you can learn how to run a food business without a college degree. Entrepreneurship is a skill you develop through practice vs learning in a classroom setting. However, if you still wanted to go to college, you could consider a specific business major, such as Marketing, Finance, or Economics.

Sending you the best as you pursue selling food products :)

It kind of depends on what you mean. By some measures, the answer is "none". You can use something like Squarespace to set up an ecommerce site, and you are in business.

Now, you'll have to check into any rules or laws regarding prep and shipping of food in whatever areas you sell to...but that's not something to go to college for.

If you expect this to be a huge business, you could consider getting a business or marketing degree, but those aren't REQUIRED.

And nobody can tell you what school would be best. There are MANY factors to consider when choosing a school. These include, but are not limited to: location, cost, student life, scholarships, reputation, size, activities offered, and more. Everyone weighs these factors differently, so nobody can tell you what school is right for YOU.

Hello Ashtyn,

Degree and School for Selling Food Online

To sell food online, there isn’t a specific degree requirement, but pursuing a degree in business, marketing, culinary arts, or food science can be beneficial. These degrees provide knowledge and skills in areas such as food safety regulations, marketing strategies, and business management.

A degree in Business Administration can be particularly useful as it covers various aspects of running a business, including marketing, finance, and management. Many universities offer specialized programs in entrepreneurship and small business management within their business administration degrees.

For those interested in the culinary side of the business, a degree in Culinary Arts or Food Science can provide valuable knowledge about food preparation, safety standards, and the science behind food products. This can be especially beneficial for individuals looking to sell homemade or artisanal food products online.

When considering schools, it’s important to look for institutions that offer strong programs in the chosen field of study. Some of the top schools for business administration include Harvard Business School, Stanford Graduate School of Business, and The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. These institutions are renowned for their comprehensive business programs and resources for aspiring entrepreneurs.

For culinary arts and food science, schools like the Culinary Institute of America, Johnson & Wales University, and Cornell University are highly regarded for their culinary arts and food science programs. These institutions provide hands-on training and education in food preparation, safety, and the culinary arts.

It’s important to note that while a degree can provide valuable knowledge and skills, selling food online also requires compliance with local health regulations and obtaining necessary permits. Therefore, aspiring online food sellers should also familiarize themselves with local laws and regulations related to food businesses.

In conclusion, while there isn’t a specific degree required to sell food online, pursuing a degree in business administration, culinary arts, or food science can provide valuable knowledge and skills for aspiring online food entrepreneurs. When choosing a school, it’s essential to consider reputable institutions with strong programs in the chosen field of study.

Don't forget to read my autobiography, paying attention to the foods that provide all the essential nutrients for effective studying acumen. You might discover that you can accomplish twice as much academic work in half the time. Your performance in exams and assignments could also improve, especially if you were deficient in many nutrients. Replenishing missing nutrients can do wonders.

GOD BLESS YOU,
