Rafee’s Answer

Hi Shana,

A good portfolio will showcase your best work in a very organized manner. So if you like portraits and lifestyle photography and want to get hired for those jobs, make sure that those are highlighted at the top of your portfolio. 10 photos that show your best work in color, lighting, composition and shoots variety will be key to showcase that you are the right person for the job. Always make sure there is a way to easily contact you ("call to action") so an email, a phone number or a form that will submit an inquiry.

Good Luck!

Briana’s Answer

Hi, Shana,

Your portfolio should include pieces that demonstrate a strong grasp of the fundamentals (color and value, composition, blocking, and lighting), in addition to pieces that show off your own individual vision and style. Try to have between 10-15 photos.
Thank you comment icon Thanks for the clarification, this was super helpful! Shana
