How do I find out about scholarships ?

How do you get information about scholarships from colleges. I want to save as much money as possible so my brother can get as much as he needs for college, but I don’t know how to go about finding scholarships.

I recommend going to the admissions pages of a couple community college and universities. If you poke around looking for admissions, cost, and financial aid you will likely find either specific scholarships listed or a contact. Don't be afraid to start emailing or calling the admissions representatives to ask them for advice. They may have events you can attend or materials they can share. Often times, specific majors will have major specific scholarships too, so it can be helpful if you know what you want to study. Good luck!

Scholarships focus on many criteria, for example, they are available from specific colleges, specific industries, specific majors, etc. In high school a great source of information is the guidance office. Counselors and staff in that office can help lead you to the sources depending on your goals. For starters, do you have a major in mind? a college? Many community organizations offer generic scholarships for graduating high school students. These are just a few sources. There are also organizations that offer scholarships related to ethnic groups, such as Latinx, Native American, and there are scholarships available based on financial need as well. With so many avenues to explore it is best to link up with someone at your school, such as a counselor or other professional that specializes in scholarships and academic awards. Good luck on your exploration!
