Pamela’s Answer

Hello Destiny
Congratulations! and Blessings.
I am Pamela.
Becoming a lash tech typically requires completing a certification program, which may vary depending on your location and the specific skills you want to learn. However, most certification programs have minimum age requirements, so it may be challenging to become a lash tech while still in high school. It may be helpful to research local certification programs and see if they offer any options for high school students or younger individuals. Additionally, you may want to consider gaining experience in related fields, such as cosmetology or esthetics, which could help you develop some of the necessary skills for working as a lash tech.

Hello Destiny,

It's wonderful that you know what you'd like to pursue career-wise upon graduation. Given you are still in High School, you may want to look into local salons that offer apprenticeship programs or have other openings for High School Students, such as; Receptionist, Assistant, etc. This will enable you to be surrounded by the work setting you would like to pursue. Certainly, you will want to ensure the salon is one that offered lash services so you can learn first-hand. Then upon graduation, you can pursue your certification in lash services.

I suggest first starting with your School Guidance Counselor. Perhaps they can help you find relevant programs and/or opportunities, or at the very least guide you in the right direction.

Good luck!

Hey Destiny!
Embrace the journey of becoming a lash technician with confidence. While qualifications do include getting a lash certification, keep in mind that many states also require you to be licensed as a cosmetologist or aesthetician.

This is actually a great thing, as it allows you to gain deeper knowledge and expertise while working on sensitive areas of the human body.

Not to mention the professional handling of the chemical products involved, ensuring you're providing the safest service possible for your clients. Guess what? Some states may not need lash certification, but pursuing it anyway will set you apart as a credible and reliable choice for future clients.

Let's get excited about learning how to acquire an eyelash extension certification together, and watch your career soar!
