Brian’s Answer

1. To begin with, it's essential to use widely recognized terminology when talking about professional positions. As Atul mentioned, the term "security manager" isn't widely used. Assuming you're inquiring about becoming a manager in a company that handles information security (also known as cybersecurity), it's important to note that this isn't a beginner role. Usually, candidates for this position have previous experience in managing people or are skilled in roles like security analyst or security architect.

2. If you're not currently working as a security analyst, concentrate on finding a company that employs entry-level analysts and offers a well-established program for nurturing and advancing in-house talent.

3. Strive to become an exceptional security analyst and express interest in guiding or supporting others. Communicate your aspirations and intentions to your supervisor and those involved in hiring for the Manager of Information Security role.

Wishing you great success on your journey. - B

Atul’s Answer

Do you want to be a security guard or manage security system for a corporation?
If it is latter - acquire a BS degree and learn about cybersecurity and other security protocols. Check out your local state university to know what they are offering.
You will make a comfortable living doing this vs to become a security guard.
