What surprises you when you first started taking classes?

I am in 9th grade and I am already passionate about veterinary studies and have a pretty good idea about what will happen. I asked this question just to be prepared in the future.

I'm often pleasantly surprised upon getting my grade for the initial assignment. It genuinely establishes a positive atmosphere for the entire course as I grasp and appreciate the expectations.

Great question, Congrats on finding something you are passionate about it! Hang onto that and listen to yourself.

I am firm believer -- you know when you know. If you are passionate about a particular subject, go with that feeling and don't forget to still explore and be open to other opportunities that may surface.

Also, give yourself grace if you ever change your mind and choose a slightly different path. In my experience, I have always had a passion for helping others and leadership. In 10th grade, I knew I wanted to pursue psychology. Once, I took my first psychology class, I feel in love and had a true passion for the subject. It led me to making the decision to declare my major before I even got to college :)
