Benjamin’s Answer

Everyone is different, some people come into it faster. But it’s not all about cooking that makes you a chef. You are also a manager and a leader. Luckily for us it takes steps in a kitchen to get people prepared.

You move up on stations to develop all the tools you will need to learn if it’s done in a proper kitchen.

Start off on salads and cold apps maybe dessert. Do well they will move you to a harder station, maybe grill or sauté.

And if you show you are a rock star in your own way you can be chosen to be a Sous chef and to learn from the chef all the skills you will need to become a chef.

But again it varies from person to person and what aspect of the field you are focusing on.
