How am I supposed to find a job that I can get paid well but also enjoy it at the same time?
Im in freshman year currently, but I need to overlook my future in a few years. However, its hard finding a job that I won't find boring or not being payed well.

Here are some thoughts.
1. Focus on clarity for your life. What do you want to do and why? What do you do today that you find that time goes by very fast, and you enjoy it? If you have something like that, you have something you are skilled at and you like. This is something worth exploring.
2. Why do you like it? What is it about this that makes an hour seem like 15 minutes when I do it?
3. Can I make money at it? Who else is making money at it?
4. What additional skills/expertise do I need in order to very good at this?
5. Who can I learn from in this area?
Understand that you are likely to change careers several time in your life and have several jobs. This can because your interests changed, or your career took a dramatic turn (see journalism circa mid-2000s).
What you love to do today may change are you grow as a person. Don't look at your ultimate purpose, but rather, set a goal and aspiration now on something you like and find out if you really like it. If you don't, move onto something else.
If you don't know what you like to do, spend time thinking about, but more importantly take action. If you don't know what you want to do you will never figure it out without take action to find out.

It's really just finding something you're going to enjoy. At first, you may not make a lot at the career you may choose. But a lot of times, if you stick with it, your dedication and time will amount to more. Something I was always told is "Don't just see the money." And while this is hard in today's economy, it is important to think of your happiness as well. Your quality of like will be tremendously better if you keep your happiness in mind when choosing a career. You may not find something right of the bat, it is completely okay to change your mind! Try it, and even if you find you want something else, you will still have that experience to help guide you along.

Hi fist, most likely you won’t make allots of money, when you get out of college. you needs to find your passion,, what you enjoy doing, and focus on that, your already 50% step ahead with some other person out there, your in the right path by going to school, do not quit continue till you graduate, try to get an internship on a best establishments. and if you finished, get a job there, and work for couple of years, remember. Working less than a year is a failure. So no matter how hard or difficult the job is, you just don’t quite, I promise you if follow my advice, you will succeed,

You have to find something that is interesting to you. Me I've been a plumber for 30 years now, it offers different experiences every day, at first I didn't like it, but I stuck with it and now I make decent money at it

Hi Sedona - great question. A lot of people struggle finding that balance of something that you're passionate about while also being able to make a living. Luckily, there are a lot of ways to find a career that involves your passions.
You should write down a list of things you do that make you happy. Do you like to make art? Music? Write? Read? Help people? Solve problems? Work with your hands? When you know what kind of things make you happy, you can explore what possible jobs out there involve the things that make you happy and support the lifestyle you want.

If you have been a part of an Asian country like India, it would be tough question to answer however if you are lucky to be a part of countries like The USA, I would say any career that satisfies your soul can serve best. You need to -
1) Taste multiple fields by gaining knowledge & experience. Be as wide possible.
2) After shortlisting a few, don't hesitate to talk to people who are in your desired field to know.
If you prefer status symbol or money over fun and work-life balance, you can opt for any government sector officer level jobs but in the other way round, you have plenty of options like being a professional/expert of any field like health, law, psychology, naturopathy, or the like is always in demand.
In order to be wealthy wrt time and money, you need to have multiple sources of income and being a professional will provide you with it.
