How long does it take to truly pursue a career in Psychology?
Im majoring in Psychology after recently changing from Anthropology and I wanted to know how long it would take me to study and start up a career in it like opening my own office and everything or even getting a good job related to it. #psy #psychology #college #life #career

I think it really depends on how far you want to go with it and your the state regulations where you live. Many require a Master's Degree in order to pursue you own practice, but I would start there. It also really depends on the career path you want to go. Psychology is a very open field to get into and it is within the Master's level where you tend to specialize more in an area! Good luck!

It really depends on the Psychology field you want to go into. My wife went to school for 4 years getting her bachelors and another 3 years achieving her PHD in School Psychology. She is now working on her Masters studying in Clinical Psychology which will take another 2 years. This will give her the opportunity to open her practice and have children as well as adults as clients.
