Smaran’s Answer

Hi Jose,

I know I am answering this bit late, but still the question is for the future! :-)

Will Robots take over your job? the Answer is not a simple Yes/No. But I would say they will take over and they are taking over now by the time I answer this question.

Many research articles / studies in the internet reveal that millions of jobs would be replaced but along side millions of jobs will be created because of the Robots or we can call it Automation & Artificial intelligence. The demand for Automated workforce is true but to make it automated you need Humans.

I would say for now many warehouse/factory workers are being replaced with automated machines/robots for production. But as Humans we do need to evolve with the change in technology around us. Personally I feel that Robots and Humans do co exist in future and work with each other for more effective results in there respective job roles.

Ryan’s Answer

Hi Jose,

This is a great question, and one that we touched on through my years of university. Working in tech I see first hand the amazing advances we are making every year. AI is always a hot topic and usually the concern around it has to do with the question that you are posing. AI really can increase efficiencies and cut down costs in a lot of industries, but to answer your question my opinion is that it will not take over our jobs. My thought on this topic is that with the increasing advancement in AI it will cause a shift in the job sector demand. I think the saying "when one door closes another one opens" is relevant here. if AI continues to make advances it will replace some current occupations but it will also open up a massive need for more technology based jobs. Something else that should see a huge spike is anything involving data, autonomous driving will need copious amounts of data to function properly.

My best guess for future jobs would be that we will see a massive demand increase in computer engineering and data science.

This is just my opinion on the matter, but it is something I think about a lot.

Great Question!

Kristin’s Answer

They will change them, not take them over. Not in our lifetimes at least ;-)

Artificial intelligence will absolutely change the way we work, but not in the way that some of the pessimists fear. Instead, it is likely to take over the drudgery - automating the routine tasks that we do and freeing up the human intelligences to do work requiring higher level planning and creativity.
