Great question, Adan! These plans don't automatically transfer , but you can still get the assistance you need in college (see links below). To start, contact the disability services department at your college. You can use your IEP from high school to help document your disability and show what services and accommodations you need. That department should be able to assist you, but you likely will need to talk directly with your professors about accommodations, if needed, for assignments and exams.
While you are applying, research what disability services each college offers and notice how much the physical plant caters to those with disabilities (e.g., ramps, curb cut-out's, signs with braille, etc.). This will indicate how inclusive the college is.
Good luck!

Hi, you will absolutely need to reestablish an IEP plan when you enroll in a college. Each college is different but the governing body for IEP is not the same as the governing body for higher education. Colleges work with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, which focus on equal access rather than specialized instruction or guaranteed success. Students must independently contact the campus disability services office, self-identify their needs, and provide documentation (an old high school IEP is helpful to show past support).
