My name is Lisa, I am a mother, nursing student and a current certified nursing assistant with 3 years of healthcare experience. I started off in the early elementary education field with special needs student and soon moved onto my career in the healthcare field. I began at the hospital that everyone gasps in terror when they hear the name. From there it has allowed me to open my mind and realize that furthing my education is the way for me to become successful in this field.

What is the one piece of career advice you wish someone gave you when you were younger?
I wish I had been told to go for the job I said I would never do. I grew up viewing hospitals as scary and a place where people die. Instead of being educated on how they are actually life saving I was told that I was right. It took a major heart break for me to go after this field and I have no regrets
What is it like when your job gets tough?
You know your job gets tough when you have 3 call lights going off, one pt on the toilet, another trying to jump out of bed, and a nurse asking you for ice water for the patients room she just came out of
