Betsy’s Answer

Hi Thomas, there are lots of majors that will be in demand in the future. I'm guessing you're asking this question in hopes that it will give you direction on choosing a major. Much of that decision should be based on what subjects/classes you enjoy, what interests you and what you're good at. If you hate doing math, a statistics or accounting major might not makes sense for you. But if you enjoy working with numbers, there are a number of majors and careers that could work - engineering, physics, business, etc. While there are so majors that can have more limited career options, many, many majors will continue to be in demand,

Betsy recommends the following next steps:

Determine what subjects/classes you are interested in.
Choose a major that will have appeal for you
Develop a list of potential careers that correspond with your major.

Lashay’s Answer

Hi Thomas: A few majors that will be in demand for sure are cyber security and software development. As more hackers and foreign countries seek to interfere with our daily transactions, those knowledgeable in ways to secure company and home systems will be greatly valued. Also, many companies and organizations need people to create apps and other forms to streamline their processes and market their group. For many more hot jobs of now and the future go to occupational Outlook handbook.org and onetonline.org. Both sites will provide a detailed description of the jobs including their demand. Make sure you have at least one hour to read through each. You can read each as often as you like. Best of luck in your decision!
