Hi Pavni,
I am born and brought up in the city of Patiala, so I can probably understand your situation better than most here.
If you are not sure about your career path and you are interested in writing , then I recommend you to move out of the city to potential hubs like Chandigarh, Delhi NCR first (Based on what's feasible). I recommend this since this city doesn't allow you to experiment a lot if you want to pursue a creative passion and especially when you want to tryout different activities. Once you move out, you are giving way to the butterfly effect or what I call "planned serendipity". You will start getting answers one by one.
However, if moving out is not possible - try to look for any and all virtual opportunities. You can even cold email publishing websites to give you an unpaid gig or something. This allows you to get your foot in the door at-least.
Work on becoming skilled and knowledgeable and money will follow 100%.
Move out of the Town if feasible
Cold Email relevant Organisations

Hello Pavni,
Start by discovering what you truly love to do, and then explore how you can turn it into a career. Stay strong and don't let any pressure steer you away from your true path. Whatever you choose, put your heart into it!
Wishing you all the success!

Hi Pavni
This is a question that every graduate has and feel lost on what is the way forward. Ideally you must have already started working on this question during 3rd of your college.
My suggestion would be consider :
1) the subject of your degree,
2)self explore on your positives and negative qualities,
3)what kind of a character are you (whether an extrovert, like a desk job or want to keep moving, your attitude, you like to work as individual contributor, or work in a team)
4) Whether you want to do a business or work at an office
5) work on your strong network
6) look out for jobs suiting your capabilities
7) Apply, approach known contacts
8) Prepare well and face interviews
9) Do not give preference to make money in the beginning of your career
Am sure the right door will open and you will find many opportunities.

Hi Pavni,
Feeling unsure about your next steps after college is completely normal. Since you're interested in writing, start by exploring related career options. Consider freelance writing to earn money. Platforms like Upwork, Fiverr, and Freelancer offer gigs for blog posts, technical writing, and content creation. It's flexible, and you can try different writing styles.
If you have specific interests, think about starting a blog or YouTube channel to dive deeper into those topics. You can earn money through ads, sponsorships, or by offering premium content.
For writing that supports businesses, look into copywriting (advertising) or technical writing (explaining complex ideas simply). These fields are well-paying and often in demand.
While you figure out your main career, use your hobbies and skills to make money on the side. You can sell your writing, offer tutoring, or teach a language. These side hustles can provide income as you explore your interests.
Remember, your first job or project may not be your final destination, and that's perfectly fine. Many people change careers as they grow. Stay open to new opportunities to find what truly excites you.
You don't need to have everything figured out right away. Focus on trying new things, following your curiosity, and learning along the way. Be patient with yourself, and know it's okay not to have a set path after college. Keep exploring, building skills, and testing different areas to see what you love most!
Wishing you all the best!

Try these steps & see if it works for you. What's most important is what makes you happy.
(1) Self-Assessment
- What activities do I enjoy, even if I'm not particularly good at them?
- What subjects or topics do I find interesting or engaging?
- What kind of work environment do I prefer (e.g., office, outdoors, remote)?
(2) Try Different Things
Trial & error is a valuable approach.
Volunteer provides hands-on experience in various fields and helps identify what you enjoy.
Internships can offer insights into different industries & roles.
Part-time Jobs in different settings can help you understand your preferences.
(3) Seek Feedback
Ask for feedback from teachers, friends & family. Sometimes others can see strengths & talents that you may overlook.
(4) Networking
Connecting with professionals in different fields can provide insights & opportunities. Try attending career fairs, join clubs, or use platforms like LinkedIn.
(5) Keep Trying
It is ok to not have everything figured out immediately. The journey of discovering the right career is ongoing & evolving.
It is exploring, learning, & staying open to new possibilities.
