Has anyone here gone back to college, and to veterinary school, while being a mom?

I have been accepted to Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine class of 2029. I am so grateful for this opportunity, and I hope I am making the right decision for us. I want to follow my dream, and for my daughter to see this example, even if it will be challenging.

Hi Emily,

Congratulations on your acceptance to Auburn's veterinary school! Auburn has an excellent reputation, so you must be an outstanding student!

While I didn't attend college after having children, I did complete some certifications. I also know many parents who have successfully earned college degrees. Here are some lessons I've learned that might help you:

Treat college like a 9-5 job if possible.
· If your daughter is a student, consider doing homework together.
· Focus on either studying or spending time with your daughter, but try not to multitask both.
· Don't hesitate to ask for help, whether it's from professors or your community (other parents, trusted teenagers, family members).
· Be confident in your ability to succeed, just as many others have.

Best wishes! I know you'll be a terrific mom and vet!!! Your daughter will be so proud of you.
