Sneha’s Answer

Both Penn State and the University of Vermont have solid business programs, so it really comes down to what kind of college experience you’re looking for. Penn State is much larger with a big alumni network, strong name recognition, and lots of internship opportunities, especially in cities like Philadelphia and New York. The University of Vermont offers a smaller, more personal campus feel with a strong focus on sustainability and community. Think about the environment where you’ll thrive both academically and socially. Visiting both campuses and talking to current students can help make the choice clearer. Good luck!

Hi Leland, thank you for submitting your interesting question. My work team and I answered this as a group activity. Here are our responses:

Consider size, alumni, how you learn there, is there a specialty field that they teach. Do you want to be a big fish in a little ocean or vice versa? Resident v. non-resident upcharge? This decision (which school you choose) shouldn't have a material impact on your selection for a job by an HR recruiter. is size important? Vermont is much smaller. Is cost important? How much time you spend outside the classroom vs real world experience through the school? Can look at the transfer-ability - start 2 years at one institution 2 years at the other. They are significantly different in many categories, we would suggest that you look at size, cost, location, etc., and make your decision on these metrics.
