I'm in construction. The use of technology is becoming huge. Ariel drones, 3d mapping and modeling (Building information systems), and a myriad of job site management software have become extremely prevelent!

Working in the education and development space, there are constant discussions about the role of AI, but the trend I see underlying it is how to use - or how not to ! - AI responsibly. Is it justifiable to replace teachers with AI? How will AI tools affect student critical thinking abilities? How can we use AI to target learning so students are getting the exact challenges that they need? Does over-personalized learning cause damage to social cohesion? There are too many unanswered questions that desperately need to be solved!
Additionally there have been big changes in how large governments fund education around the world, so we need to learn what that will mean for the future, too.

Hi Amber, great question!
As an engineer and data scientist, AI has become an emerging trend in my field that I am slowly learning to embrace. Early on, I feel like the stigma behind AI was that it would "take all of our jobs" and "inhibit our creativity" but I realized that doesn't have to be the case. I view AI as a partner, mentor and a tool to help make my day-to-day tasks more efficient.
By treating AI as a partner, I can bounce my ideas off of it and receive detailed insights from a different point of view that I may not have considered. By treating AI as a mentor, I can get highly tailored learning plans to help keep me on top of my game and mastering new skills to keep me competitive in the workforce. Lastly, by using AI as a tool, I am able to get ideas to streamline my code and increase efficiency by quickly searching the internet rather than spending hours finding a specific forum that may or may not have the information I need.
I'm excited to see how the use of AI in my field can keep me not only current but ahead of the game.
