How can I find out what I need to do in my undergraduate degree to have a good chance to get into medical school, if the college I am going to does not have a premed track #Spring25?

I am a senior in high school with 2 passions, Musical Theatre and Medicine. The college I really want to go to does not have a premed track, but a very good Musical theatre program, I would like to know if it is important to go to a school that has pre med or can I do it all by myself and still have the ability to go to med school

Hi there! That's a great question. You can get into med school without a pre-med background, but it might be a bit more challenging. You'll need to be more independent. It could be helpful to find a junior or senior in college who is pre-med to guide you. Reddit has a great Q&A section for pre-med students where you can read and ask questions if you'd like! My son is a pre-med junior in college and is working on his recommendation letters and a research project. These are important things to consider, too. He used AI to create an action plan with all the steps for applying. Stay focused, and you'll do great!
