What are the most effective ways to build strong professional connections early on in college, especially if I’m interested in a medical career?
I'm planning to major in a pre-medical area but also want to stay involved in leadership opportunities like research and community outreach. I know internships and networking are important, but I'm not sure where to start when it comes to forming meaningful connections with professors, mentors, and industry professionals early on. Any advice would be appreciated! #Spring25

Look for internship opportunities, attend university events, and join in-person classes to meet more students and build your network for the future. Your classmates can be a key part of this network.

Hi Andrey,
That is a great question. Here are a couple places you can start!
If you’re looking to build your professional network, start by checking out Career Services—they can help you find internships and guide you through the process. Reach out to your school’s Alumni Office to connect with grads who’ve been where you are and can share helpful advice. Don’t forget about your classmates—they’re great to team up with as you navigate networking together. And most importantly, be open to chatting at events or meetups; you never know who you might meet or what you’ll learn!
Hope this helps. Best of luck, Andrey!
