While there are no guarantees in any career field due to the changing world, I am confident that the need to care for our environment will always be important.

James (AJ)’s Answer

Alana, I certainly hope so. Current political policies regarding the environment may be discouraging, but stewardship of our planet will continue in some form or another. Natural resources and tourism industries depend on scientific research. Marine biology and coral reef research could also take you to other countries or global companies that still have pro-earth policies.

I recommend talking with some advisors at prospective schools and also reaching out to companies or agencies doing the work you are interested in. Apply for internships and build a network to understand how the field is evolving and where the work continues.

Good luck!
