Whats the most important character quality/trait employers look for when considering an applicant for a common job such as marketing or video editing?

How can I better set myself apart from the everyday person who is just there to get money and not make the company better?

Every hiring manager is looking for different things for different jobs or role but one thing every hiring manager is looking for someone to come in and work hard. They want someone reliable they can count on to get the job done. If you can show them you can be counted on and that you will work hard this will mean a lot to them and the team. Most companies have cultures or values and they look for those that encompass those values. Look those up and have examples ready that show them you are not only a fit for the role (qualifications etc) but that you are a great team and company fit as well.

Be positive.
