Gopi’s Answer

You can transfer to a college of choice after 2 years in a undergrad program or in a community college and finish up your 4 year degree from the college you transferred to and earn the major you selected. You need to keep good grades in the freshman and sophomore year to be able to transfer to the college of choice.

Austin’s Answer

Loren,

Good question, but I may need some clarification. If you are asking about whether or not it is possible to transfer schools, the answer is yes. Transferring from one school to another one happens frequently these days for a variety of reasons; it may be financial, it may be due to personal reasons, it may just not be a good fit, the reasons are honestly endless. My brother transferred from a school in Boston to a school in Colorado after his first year as Boston was not a good fit for his personality. While scary to switch schools, he said that it was the right decision to make.

If you go to the University of Alabama and graduate, going to another four year college would not make a lot of sense. Since you already have a degree, you would end up redoing four years of college not to mention spending all that money. If Georgia has a better program for your major, you might want to consider applying to it Early Decision. ED gives you the best chance of getting into a school but be warned that if you get in, you are locked into going.

I hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck!!

Best,

Austin
