What is one piece of advice for someone currently studying to become a physician assistant?

I am currently a student in community college; I am transferring next fall to earn my bachelor's degree in health science or a related major. Please share your best pieces of advice that have helped you in either school or your career.

Isabella,

I'm a primary care internal medicine PA and a 2020 graduate, so I have been in your shoes. Firstly, if you've decided to become a PA and plan to apply to PA schools, I think you've chosen a profession with awesome future growth and potential. And if you're like me, you may have been drawn to the fact that PA training and education is rigorous and it prepares PAs to be integral members of any modern healthcare team. If I had just one piece of advice to share with you, I would encourage you to believe in yourself and try to enjoy the process. By that I mean the process of finishing your undergraduate degree, preparing and applying to PA schools, the interviews, and the time in between where you can chill and appreciate everything you've already accomplished.

I recommend this blog by a PA who basically documented his own PA journey, since he was a pre-PA:

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any specific questions I can help with.

Good luck!
