What is a great way to get yourself mentally and physically prepared for nursing school/ college??

What are methods that can help me?
Are there activities that help me?
Possibly programs related to my question?
Is this something that you have to do on your own or can you get help?

Anything that you can do to expose yourself to healthcare. Some high schools have career centers with healthcare as a focus even being able to earn certification as a nursing assistant. Look for volunteer opportunities at a hospital close to you .

Hi Alyssa! Although I'm not in nursing, I've experienced several demanding academic programs, and preparing mentally and physically beforehand is just as important as what you do during the program. Mentally, begin building discipline by creating a daily routine with set study blocks, since nursing school will require you to handle anatomy, pharmacology, and clinical hours simultaneously. Practicing time management now with tools like Google Calendar, Notion, or a planner can help. Physically, start a regular exercise routine, even if it's just 30 minutes of walking, yoga, or strength training, to prepare for long clinical shifts. Make sure to get 7 to 8 hours of sleep consistently and reduce late-night screen time. For early exposure, consider CNA programs or hospital volunteer work, and look into organizations like HOSA or pre-nursing summer programs. Remember, you don't have to do this alone; connect with study groups, online communities, and your school's counseling center for support and stress management resources. Taking care of your mental health is important for success in healthcare!
