What are some more do's and don't's when signing or learning American Sign Language?

I am a senior and soon to be freshman in Bloomsburg University majoring in ASL interpretation and English translation. What are some do's and don't's when signing a conversation or learning ASL. I've taken two classes of ASL in 9th and 10th grade. I've also did a few courses from a online school called "Oklahoma School of the deaf". Please let me know what I can improve on for majoring in ASL.

Good for you Kailynn! You look like you are preparing yourself well. Have you connected with anyone in the ASL interpreter field yet? I would recommend you connect with someone and ask if you can shadow them for a day or part of a day. You can learn so much from them on what they like, dislike, and the types of interpretation branches that exist.

If you know someone in the Deaf community, ask who they use locally for interpretation services and see if you can go upstream to reach someone from in that company.
