How do you effectively manage workflow?

I have always loved learning. I will be a college freshman I have varied interests, and would love to get a dual degree in architecture and maybe physics. What are the best strategies for effective time management and workflow? How do you dig deep for motivation when the pressure is on?

I would talk to someone at the school on feasibility - both programs can have a heavy course load and may not have multiple options for required courses making scheduling difficult. Sitting down with an advisor/counselor would help you better understand if this is the path you go down, what is possible from a scheduling standpoint (i.e. does this mean your 4 year degree takes 5 or requires some summer courses?) and then you can start evaluating if how to find balance!

Thank you for your question. Firstly, you need to find a time management tool to help, eg Google Calendar, MS outlook, phone calendar, etc
Below are my suggestions:
1. Put down the time you need to attend lectures and tutorials
2. Assign some time every day on your assignments and projects. Review the material covered in the class everyday. If you have any questions, ask the tutor on the next tutorial
3. Make sure you have enough time to sleep and do some exercise
4. You can then allocate some time on your leisure and friends & family gathering
5. Assign more time for revision and start early before assessment
Hope this helps! Good luck!
May Almighty God bless you!

Henry’s Answer

Hi Ryan,
I can't answer the double major part, but for managing varied interests, focus on building momentum. When you find connections between two subjects, it boosts your curiosity. Also, know when to take a break; being stubborn can lead to doubt and lower productivity. You can't avoid all pressure, so stay open to new ideas, seek second opinions, and consider how they can offer new perspectives.
