As a health science major, how can I find a career path that is best for me and is the right fit?

I am currently a freshman at the University of New Hampshire and I am majoring in health science. I chose this major because it is very versatile and it will allow me to go to different paths in healthcare. However, I am stuck on what I should focus on and what career path would best align with my views. #Spring2026

Greetings! It's good that you're seeking the best fit for you. I'm not sure what you mean by aligning with your views, but I encourage you to evaluate your strengths, talents, abilities, and passions. What do you enjoy? What ages of people do you relate to best? What activities are your favorite? Do you prefer teamwork or solo? Being front and center or behind the scenes? If you like to solve puzzles, research or laboratory may be a good fit. If you are into technology, laboratory, radiology, instrumentation development and maintenance might be your calling. If you are an athlete, physical therapy or sports medicine related to strength and training. There are good fits for just about everyone in the Healthcare field. There is a need for dedicated workers and though sometimes challenging, it's highly rewarding. Talk to people in different areas, see if you can shadow some for a day to get a good feel for the job. Best to you!
