What is the best way to get my name out there for a start-up side business?

I am a 31 year old individual returning to undergrad after a very long break. I want to begin a side business of real estate photography while I work on my degree, but I'm not entirely sure where to start. How do I get my name out there?

Don’t wait for paid work. Shoot:

A friend’s apartment
Your own place
An Airbnb or model home (ask permission)

Focus on:

Bright, clean images
Straight vertical lines
Wide-angle shots (but not distorted)

Edit them cleanly and consistently. Even 5–10 strong photos is enough to start.

Do you have images that are comparable to the images you see on line or in magazines? Do you have a camera and lenses? Do you know how to use the camera to produce professional images? Do you own a tripod? Do you have a website that acts as your portfolio? Have you explored the work of interior photographers? Do you have a business card?
When you can answer with a yes to the above questions, then you can start contacting realtors in your area to find clients.
