Hi Siya,
That looks like a fairly balanced selection - which is what you want to have in 8th grade.
English is always important to have. Whatever you want to do later in life, having good communication skills (reading, writing, speaking) is always an asset.
Foreign languages are not only fun to learn and useful for travel or maybe for a career, they also help you build flexibility in your brain.
Math and science are the gateway to lots of interesting and well-paid careers. They also help you to understand the natural and technical world around you.
Learning about health might inspire you to pursue a rewarding career in healthcare or help you understand how to live a healthy life.
Independent living and social science/civics will help you become an adult and understand people and how the society you live in works.
Last, but not least, art can lead get you interested in a creative career or become a fulfilling hobby to balance job and family stresses.
Much of high-school is about getting exposed to different things and finding out who you are going to be and what you want to do in life.
As you go through high-school, take a bit of time occasionally, to think about future goals, consider college and career plans. Check out college websites, possible majors, admission requirements and possible career pathways.
If you are able to take on challenging classes, like AP or IB, take those. If you have the option to take dual enrollment classes, take those. But make sure you don't overload your schedule. An A in a normal class is still better than a failed AP class.
Also, there is no need to have it all figured out in 8th grade. Enjoy school!
I hope this helps! All the best to you!
