Hi!
It’s great that you’re already researching your dream career in 10th grade. My girlfriend works as a pediatric doctor, so through her I’ve seen a little of both the beautiful and difficult sides of working with children in healthcare.
A pediatric nurse’s daily duties can include checking vital signs, giving medications, assisting with treatments, monitoring patients, keeping records, and working closely with doctors. A huge part of the job is also comforting scared children and communicating with their parents and families.
You should also know that pediatric healthcare can sometimes be emotionally difficult. You may see very sick children and situations that can stay with you. It takes patience, empathy and emotional strength. But from what I’ve seen, when a child who has been struggling starts recovering, smiling and being a kid again, that can mean the world and remind you why you chose the profession.
So if you genuinely love being around children and want a career where you can care for and make a difference in their lives, I would definitely encourage you to explore it.
Good luck with your project and hopefully your future career in pediatrics! ❤️
