Peter’s Answer

Boeing in my town of Seattle is probably the biggest and most high-profile company to consider. I do know that there is a slowdown in the commercial plane manufacturing for the next few years.

Also, try Googling "aeronautical engineering companies".

Michael’s Answer

Hi Thomas,

There are three types of aeronautical fields; commercial, defense & space, generally done by separate companies (Boeing being the main exception). My recommendation is to see what interests you. I've previously worked at NASA and there is a lot of exciting research to be done there, equally, I'm sure I could find myself lots of interesting work in the other fields.

Matthew’s Answer

Good question Thomas. Aeronautical engineering companies work on planes, helicopters, and UAV's (like drones). They are split up into two broad categories: commercial aviation (like the planes people fly on every day to travel), and military aviation (like the planes and helicopters that the military uses). There are a number of companies in this field:
Boeing, Airbus, Sikorsk, Bell, and Embraer are a few. There are many many more but that should get you started!
