Can I get a minor in Music(vocals) while also getting my bachelors in fashion?

I am not really sure how minors work... do they require you to make more work meanwhile your bachelors is something you will be more based on.... does it make your graduation prolong?

Minors do not have the be related to your major. People often choose a minor that compliments their major, but it is not a requirement. I recently graduated and I knew plenty of people who chose a minor that interested them even if it was not related to their major.

If you are interested in a Music minor, I would highly encourage you to try it out. You can always switch minors if you decide that you want to go with something else. If you are still worried about having a minor related to fashion, another option is to double-minor. This is definitely going to add to your workload, but not as much as a double major would. If you decide to double major, make sure to figure out your 4-year plan with your college advisor once you start school to ensure that you can graduate on time and that you classes are evenly spread across your 4 years.

Hi Eimee:. Thank you for this question. A lot of first-year college students tend to think that all colleges and universities offer the same majors. Many students also tend to think that all schools offer all majors. In a actually, that is not the case. Smaller colleges tend to offer fewer majors (less instructors, less classrooms, less buildings) but more one-on-one time with instructions. On the flip side of this, larger colleges have a larger set of options. Because your considerations are so specific, I would encourage you to look at art schools. For that reason, I would encourage you to look closely at the larger size colleges and even closer at their art programs. Some colleges are now allowing students to create their major/ or minor. So short answer is yes, but may need to be creative to do both depending on the university. Best of luck with your education! thank

Truth is, if you're dedicated to finding a way, you can combine anything in your studies. I was a Political Science and Music Major and a psychology minor. It's a dance to try and balance out different courses and it might be getting credits from a different institution but if you go to a school in a major city like New York or LA there are always programs that allow you to combine with other institutions. Plus there might be art schools where both are offered.
