What is the best career to pursue if you are interested in medicine and science but also its societal impact?

I was wondering what occupations are the best fit for someone who is interested in medicine and science but not entirely sure if they want to be a doctor, which, to me at least, seems like the most typical career path for these interests. #medicine

There's so much going on in healthcare! Huge demand for nurses. Lots of interesting research going on at universities and government organizations on new treatments, efficacy of the system, and so on.

Off the top of my head... Medical researcher. Scientist at a biotech or pharmaceutical company. Lab technician. Pharmacist. Physical therapists and occupational therapist. Epidemiologist. Hospital tech. Registered Nurse. There are a ton of potential careers! I would say that the closest intersection of healthcare and science might end up being in research. It is a highly competitive field, and will require a huge investment in your science knowledge. If you want to go that route, you could be working on some amazing projects. If you want to go this route, I'd start investing heavily in science courses, including going above and beyond what they try to teach you in high school.
