What are my career options at a company like PIMCO?

Can you work at PIMCO and not work in finance or investment management? I like the idea of working in an office, but I don't have any interest in finance. What are some other job options for someone like me? #finance #financial-services #investment-management #investing

There are plenty of job types in any organization, all requiring a range of different skills. I work in technology, building software systems. Others manage the computer networks. There are people in marketing, legal, any number of groups. I always found it interesting to match a subject you like in addition to your core skill. I'm a computer programmer who also always liked finance. I now work on technology in a finance company, taking advantage of two skills / interests.

Yes, there are many jobs at a company like PIMCO that aren't related to finance. For example, being a recruiter is great if you enjoy talking to people and helping them with their careers. Another option is working in HR, where you can be part of the office team without focusing on finance.

Giles answer is very good. What I would add is look for an industry and then companies that you would have a personal interest in. I believe you would find it not just more interesting and satisfying but would probably open up more career options for you.
