Although their basic workweek is often forty hours long, hours are sometimes flexible. Biologists usually spend extra hours completing research projects, writing up their findings, and reading to keep up with the many new developments in their field.

Most biologist jobs if full time are 35-40 hours. Some jobs may require more than 40 hours pending in the needs and budget of a company.
