After high school graduation, go to college to obtain a nursing degree. 4 year degree is required to become a registered nurse.

I first got my EKG technician certificate, then a certified nursing assistant certificate. I got a job at a local hospital as a CNA to see if the career I choose was right for me. After completing the basics at college I transferred to a nursing school to complete my 4 year degree.
