Shante’s Answer

Darshan - this would depend which region of the world you are looking into to make this decision. You may want to to discuss with your teacher/guidance counselor or your parents. Goodluck!

Hi Darshan,

This would depend on the country/ region you are looking for. Another criteria would be the course/engineering stream you are willing to pursue, some of the universities have better labs/ professors/ projects for a particular course.
I agree with Jasheah’s answer for the universities in US.

Here are some additional links for university ranking in India:

I did my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from a college affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University in India and my Masters in Automotive Engineering at International Center of Automotive Research (ICAR) - Clemson University in United States. Both were completely different but gave me great academic as well as life learnings!

Jasheah’s Answer

Hello Darshan,

Great question! In the US, there are many great schools that you can attend for engineering. Please see below for a list of them (not in specific order):

*I have also put a few comments next to some of the schools based on my personal experiences after attending/visiting the campuses

1. Stanford University (Rigorous academics and beautiful campus - I highly recommend this school)
2. MIT
3. Carnegie Mellon
4. California Institute of Technology
5. Georgia Institute of Technology (aka "Georgia Tech")
6. Purdue University
7. Yale University
8. Harvard University
9. Vanderbilt University
10. Columbia University
11. Johns Hopkins University
12. University of Pennsylvania
13. Cornell University :) (Beautiful Campus - I had an amazing experience here, I still go back to visit Cornell and Ithaca, even though I have graduated)
14. University at Buffalo :) (Beautiful Campus - This school is developing so quickly. It is the number 1 school in the SUNY (State University of New York) system (out of 64 SUNY schools) and it is also the number 1 school in the SUNY system for engineering. SUNY Buffalo ranks #6 on this list for top engineering schools in New York (https://collegegazette.com/best-engineering-schools-in-new-york/3/). It is also affordable in comparison to the other schools that I have listed above. *When researching about "SUNY University at Buffalo", make sure not to confuse it with "SUNY Buffalo State College", as these are two different schools!

I went to SUNY University at Buffalo and Cornell University for engineering degrees and they were both life-changing experiences! :)
