Harry’s Answer

When thinking of an educational program in Social Work, you will want to check for degree programs offered (baccalaureate or masters). While some colleges offer both a BA/BSW and an MSW program, many offer only one or the other.

In addition to the schools that are named in Don's helpful answer, Plymouth State University (New Hampshire) also offers a BSSW degree program.

In the state of Maine, there are SW educational programs at St. Joseph's College, University of New England, University of Southern Maine, and the University of Maine (both Orono and Presque Isle).

Don’s Answer

Hi Christina,

I did a little checking, and it seems that University of New Hampshire is one of the best schools in the state to study social work. In Massachusetts here are a couple others that were listed to be good: Westfield State University, Bridgewater State University, and Salem State University.

I hope this helps. It is a much needed job, and great to help people in need of these services.

Thanks,
Don
